Community Involvement

Windward is deeply committed to giving back to the communities where we work. Windward frequently sponsors volunteer events and Windward employees throughout the country volunteer in their own local communities on these ‘volunteer days’. This volunteer partnership supports Windward’s strong belief in the value of giving back to the community on both an individual and a corporate level. Some events that Windward has sponsored include:

• Prepared materials in preparation for SCAN’s 5th Annual Allies in Prevention Awards Luncheon, which raises public awareness of child abuse and neglect.
• Distributed donations and coordinated activities for clients of Homestretch, whose mission is to empower homeless families with children.
• Setup and participated in the Hutchison Elementary Volunteer Day, teaching children about the value of community volunteering.
• Organized donations for the Winter Clothing Donation for the Homeless event.
• Prepared Care Packages for Troops overseas.

Green Initiative

Windward recognizes that small changes to daily routines can add up to big differences in slowing the rate of global warming. In response, Windward encourages its employees to help reduce the rate of global warming through a number of incentives. The Windward leadership team provides valuable benefits to encourage employees to reduce the amount of CO2 in the environment. These benefits include a $1,500 incentive for purchasing a hybrid vehicle, paying for compact fluorescent light bulbs to use in the home and financial incentives to switch to Green Power.
